Hi all Hoping someone can help. I am working on an old kenmore range...model 103.7426603 Its my grandma's....she 87, bless her heart, and she is adamant about getting her oven working again. LOL Its actually a real beauty.....almost showroom new. I think she loves that range as much as car guys love their cars....LOL...actually, as a car guy myself, I can relate....it has chrome and thick white porcelain in 99% perfect shape, and a certain simplicity that makes it easy to admire. The top burners light fine but the oven burner doesnt. The oven pilot is lit, and the thermocoupler underneath looks to be Ok, but when you turn the oven gas valve on, nothing....no sound, nothing. Any ideas? I was told it might be the flame switch and that those parts are no longer available anywhere....was told it also could be the oven gas valve/thermostat unit up top, or maybe the control valve...... I was able to scrounge up the actual parts list manual from when it was new...my grandad, rest his soul, saved all books and manuals. The manual shows part #100962 for "flame switch only"...part number 114296 for the 'control valve", and part# 229602 for the "oven thermostat". What is the right way to determine the culprit here? You guys helped me out when I was troubleshooting my old kenmore dryer and were spot on so I hoping for the same guidance again. Thanks very much for any light you can shed on this. Thanks all.

I looked some of the parts, N.L.A. for most....In the parts list or the manuals that you have is there a wire diagram???? On friday I did an old Tappen , same complaint... there was no power to the thermostat, so I started to follow the HOT wire back to the the plug and I ran across an 5 amp fuse that was open........replaced and tested, O.K. Bake and Broil .........Fuse was under the cook top, right rear, under the galvanized fuel supply line .......... Yours is a Roper, but, you can never tell.................
