Okay.. Smelled plastic burning in the dishwasher. Something must have fell into the heating element, right?? Oh- it did. Talked to one of the "operators" on the appliance guru site.. The part has some stamping numbers on it.. Those numbers are 8268295 w1007766-1 and 8268348 she was unable to work from those. I assume they're just stamping numbers, not part numbers. Bottom line is-- it's the part of this.. http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Hose-Tube-or-Fitting/1060829 Yeah-- out of stock, and $100.. Ugh, double ugh. It snaps onto it-- to provide a water supply for the mid level wash (upper rack) arm. Not sure why it snapped off.. Looking in at the arm, nothing broken off.. But it's melted enough-- I don't see a way to "make it go back on.." It carries a flat gasket, and one that appears to provide a flap valve, It appears the rack height determines which of two holes it "takes" to get it's water pressure from. The dishwasher is less than a year old-- I've never had a newer appliance fail, so I'll make phone calls in the morning-- to see where that gets me. It was bought at Lowes.. If the diagram shows-- the arrow is POINTING at the part that fell off the tube (#1). Thanks all! AJ RN Attachment: midlevel water assbly.jpg (Downloaded 14 times)

If it's less than a year old, call an authorized servicer and tell them that. Everything should be covered under warranty as long as you have your receipt.

I'll put down the "wrenches" and have SWMBO pick up the phone then.. It's a shame-- if they truly have to replace the whole piece to do this.. I guess I'm about to find out.. Thanks again.. AJRN
