Thought I could do this with just searching, but striking out left and right. I just inherited this Frigidaire Gallery from my parents. The ice/water has not worked on it since it was a couple years old. I am not getting water past the first valve. When I press the water dispenser, the valve does not trip. I switched both the water inlet valve and the water/ice valve from another frigidaire working model. Still does not work. I am thinking that the valves are not getting the open signal. Any help is appreciated.

See if you're getting voltage to both valves when you press the water dispenser.

So, you are going to love this one. I was pretty confident going into this that it was just a bad valve. I had remembered some time ago that I had done some testing at mom and dads house and told them to buy a new valve. My dad said it did not work. I did not believe he even tried, which is why I swapped valves. Anyway, I went back at it about a half an hour ago. It just did not make sense. So, I sat there with the water dispenser depressed, hearing the valve actuating, hearing water on the floor. I go around to the back of the fridge and tell my wife to press for water. She says she is, but the valve is not working again. HMMMMMM??????WTF................. GUESS WHAT? All this time, when i asked her to press the water, she was literally pressing the button that says cold water, not the lever that your glass goes on. So sorry for everyones time. Maybe you can get a good laugh from it.
