I have a GE Model GSD2100N10WW dishwasher that was installed prior to closing on the trailer and land. After I had water turned on I waited an hour and there were no leaks. After it ran the first time, a hour after the dial to return back to the off position, there were still no leaks. I returned the next day, water covered part of the kitchen floor and some of the adjacent areas. I shut off the water feed to the dishwasher and have been using a carpet cleaner to get water out of the carpets.

It looks like after it had pumped water out and finished, water continued to fill it after it turned off. Has this model had problems with leaks when it is not in operation. Assuming the installation was done correctly, what causes the leaks when the dishwasher is off?

sounds like some rust/sediment in the Water Fill Valve..

possibly caused by rust/sediment in the house water lines/heater
especially if the house has been sitting empty for awhile.

The problem was from the feed, not the waste water. The lines don't have any blockage or backup. When I closed, the seller had the meter installed, and that's when the lines were tested. I removed the manuals, energy rating guide and other factory packing still inside the unit. When the unit was first used, it drained itself, but while it was off, it refilled itself from the freshwater feed, not with waste water. This was slow, took over several hours, and you could not hear the sound associated when you have a faucet or line open with water running. When I returned, and shut the feed off, the leakage stopped.

How can there be rust or sediment in the water fill valve, the dishwasher is new and never been used before?

As a precaution when I first moved in, I drained the hot water tank three times to flush the tank, there was no discoloration in the water or dirt at the bottom of the bathtub. The rest of the plumbing with the exception of faucets and the throne are plastic, and the valve for fresh water feed is plastic. And the line to the meter, meter, and the line from the meter are new. I've ran each outlet and had the same result, no discoloration or dirt in the water.

Since everything was new and the lines were flushed as a precaution, I'm opting that it was a defective defective inlet valve inside the washer. Has anyone had any experience dealing with General Electric involving water damage?

I got their customer service to send an authorized dealer tomorrow instead of a factory repairman the day after because of risk for black mold, and contacted a company to do water damage mitigation to come out this evening. Even though home carpet cleaners really suck (at least I still have humor and made a pun), they can't remove water from the pad. I've been using a new one since this morning.

I had planned to unpack today after moving, and instead had this to deal with today and over the next couple of weeks. :pisser:

I thing the emotioncon aptly described what the inlet valve did.
