we have a maytag Magic Chef (model 3127WTV) oven in our rental property. The gas had been turned off for about 2 weeks. The new renter advised the oven will not come on. Is there anything I need to do differently since the gas had been shut off and do I need to light a pilot light or is it an electric ignitor? Thanks in advance

The Oven uses a glow Ignitor # 9 near the Oven Burner Tube # 3 in the bottom of the Oven.

I'll have to look on Saturday. I justed wanted to make sure I didn't have to do anything different, since the gas had been turned off for two weeks. Also when the gas was turned off two weeks prior the oven worked, so what would make the ignitor suddenly go bad

Part ref#14 in the above picture is the gas regulator, it has an oven gas shutoff valve built into the regulator. Little lever has to be flipped up, (I believe), for gas to oven to be on.

There is a possibility it got knocked to the off position.
