Has any replaced a heater without replacing the whole evap coil assy.??? fresh food section, freezing up.....looks doable, just bend all of the fins and bend the tabs holding the heater to the defrost drain pan. Just looked on the web and this is one of the models in a class action lawsuit...............

btw, what we are finding after being called out on these after other companies have failed is that they are not diagnosing properly the samsung bottom mount has 2 evaporators in series, some techs are fooled cause they see a one evaporator frosted so they fix on it however, the excessive frost on one evaporator can be caused by a defrost problem in the other compartment, the frosting in the other compartment causes pressure changes in the system allowing the second evaporator to frost as well always check both evaporators, not just the one the customer complains about

from fixitnow home page......go to 'search this site' type in RS263BBWP.......... it will indicate ' did not match any documents'... go to web search......... then it is the 5th heading down.............do not know of any other way to get there...... P.S. do you have a service manual for this unit. I have one the has that model listed but the control panel on the door does not match and will not go into diagnostic.. found one in the Samurai's stash under RS26*** with the correct control panel but looks different in the interior parts......or is that the way it is??? P.S the evap panel was a block of ice and frost............ thermistor was in the area of 13xxx ohm and the bi-metal had continuity........but the heater was an open circuit,,,,recheck about 6 times.......... saying to myself " may be the probes are not getting a good contact " but open every time I checked....

That is the model number the customer gave, we always ask for a model number when an appointment is made, I could not find a manual before I went out and when I got there I started to get the model and as I was looking for the label, the customer said It is on this side near the floor ...I found the real one ( ? ) on the divider wall and that is the correct model number...they bought from Best Buy, a big electronic store in the lower 48, now deceased............ Under the section "nomenclature" RS26 30 (30 is the option for Best Buy ) plus it shows the label location as lower left, bottom, for the label location........ I'm not good on 'click and drag' or 'cut and paste" Also, this is a SxS refer........ If I have a normal frost pattern on the freezer evap. coils, I can surmise a failed heater is correct in the fresh food side ??

Unit is a side by side ....the evaporator in the fresh food side, behind a panel 2/3 of the way down ............On the panel there is a fan with three wires ( red, blue and ? ) plus two wires that travel into the foam of the panel ( brown and a white wire ) ................. there is no accumulator on this evap. coil........... three sets of connectors. rear of the unit to the evap. coil 1) red/ white = heater 2) red / black=bi-metal 3) yellow / yellow = thermistor.............

My desk is a stack of Samsung service manuals. They do not put a number of the service manual on the front like Whirlpool. All they list is the models of the units............SO, I started to read / glance thru the stack..If you have Samsung # SAM0092 ( I know , this one did have a number ) Go to page 16, that is what the evap. cover looks like, lower left, On page 17, that is what the coil assy looks like......lower left.........Page 24 this is a close resemblance of the control panel. IN the service manual that lists this model , the control panel on the freezer door is not even close..............I did not want to go back to the customers home and take pictures, Real confidence builder to the customer...... Had I known no service manual/ model exists, I would have taken pictures.......... The labels look factory installed....Also, I had the customer do the parts shopping at repairclinic , ( I was looking at their range ) Nothing found by model number there........ We did find a evap assy that is close P/N DA96-00020Q

At the last ASTI convention, the Samsung trainer told us that Samsung is now endorsing replacing just the heater. You still have to buy the whole evaporator assembly, but it's officially sanctioned to remove the new heater install it on the old evaporator. No sealed system work necessary.
