LG Dishwasher Model LDF6810 stopped working properly mid-cycle........ The dishwasher is not developing enough pressure to spin the wash arms. It seems to have adequate water level and I can hear the pump running. I disassembled the sump, verified no blockage, cleaned the filter and the impeller looks OK. I removed the door cover and control panel- all wires appear connected and there are no visible abnormalities. I ran the diagnostic test. The first display is 3H/U3 (service manual indicates 3H/U2 normal). All tests results agree with program until : Time Delay 1st time-the display was cycling between 1 and 94(2 and 04, 2 and 01 on other attempts). Time Delay 2nd-display=32(normal) Time Delay 3rd-display=33(normal) Time Delay 4th-display counted up to 800 with drain pump running intermittent. Did not overfill. Time Delay 5th-display=35(normal) Time Delay 6th-display=36(normal) Time Delay 7th-display=37(normal) Time Delay 8th-display=38(normal) Time Delay 9th-display=47(abnormal) Time Delay 10th-display=3a(normal) Time Delay 11th-display=3b(normal) Time Delay 12th-display=3b and bell rang twice.(abnormal) Time Delay 13th-no response(abnormal). Usually if the complaint is "poor wash results"---this is due to a failing wash motor. All "6810" LG dishwashers had the older SUMP ASSEMBLY (6871DD1002B) which is known to develope a problem with the *wash motor*. The new SUMP ASSY is part number: AJH31248604. Usually this (older sump assy) triggers an "LE" error but occassionally the wash motor will just be too slow (RPM) to provide adequate water pressure thru the wash arms without triggering an "LE" error message. LG dishwashers---like others---alternate the wash arm function. The upper wash arm will spray water for a period----and then the lower wash arm will receive water pressure to rotate. The symptoms are poor wash results, practically non-existent. There are no error codes displayed. Based on what I have read on this site and observed, I felt the problem was the pump, motor, circuit board, or vario motor. A slow motor would explain the low water pressure. I will change the pump/motor assembly and hope for the best. Are there any other parts that should be changed or or preventive maintenance performed at this time? Thanks again for your help!

Looking at the dishwasher door itself---if there's any insulation material that is sticky tar-like material---use electrical tape to wrap the wire loom from the bottom of the door up to the detergent dispenser assy. This will protect the wiring from becoming imbedded into the black insulation---which causes wires to be pulled apart over time from opening & closing the door. If the insulation material is of the *cloth* type---no action needs to be taken. On the left side of the door is a blower DUCT TUBE. There are 4 different versions of this tube. The first two designs had the potential to dribble moisture where the duct attaches to the blower housing. This DUCT can be removed from the blower housing. Add silicone sealant to the DUCT TUBE & re-install to prevent / stop small dribbling leaks. Last edited on Thu Oct 28th, 2010 05:40 pm by john63 |
