so the newest problem with our dishwasher is that it won't turn on... unless you either lift up or lean in to the latch assembly (and stay in that position; kinda hard to do that for the duration of the cycle).

opened up the door panel and removed the latch assembly as a online quick search says they (specifically the switches) are quite problematic. i noticed one of the two switches appears to be on it's last legs... which would explain why the lifting or leaning works.

i can order a replacement latch assembly (without the latch is the only way i've see it) but it seems to be a bear and a half to get the latch out (assuming i'd re-use the old latch). i guess i could just order a new latch too but then i'd face the challenge of getting that into the assembly.

any ideas, suggestions, insults, etc. could be appreciated:D

well i may have answered my own question.

i rtfm and it actually instructs one on how to remove and install a switch in the door latch switch assembly.

perhaps i will just order the switch or order the assembly and remove it from there (being that this unit is at least a teenager, i should probably just replace both switches) that way i won't have to grapple with any latches old or new in or out...
