Oven will not light-and the ignitor was not firing. Checked the voltage at the ignitor-it is 5V. The error code is also giving me a F2E0- shorted Key. I reset the code, unplugged the oven, and tried again-same code. Are these related?

Oh dear, the problematic and finicky DSI range. This post has three service pointers that address just a few of the many problems with this range, including the one you're now having==> http://fixitnow.com/wp/2007/02/13/whirlpool-direct-spark-ignition-range-wont-stay-lit/

So upon researching-my oven has the updated burner tube and ignitor. If the spark module was malfunctioning, would the burners on the stove still work? Does that point to the ignitor as the most probably cause? I still have the "shorted key" code-which the tech sheet recommends replacing the control - is that the spark module or the keypad control?

deasonsbills wrote:If the spark module was malfunctioning, would the burners on the stove still work? Yes. Spark modules can, and frequently do, fail only partially in their outputs. So it's very common for a spark module to fail, for example, for only the oven igniter or one of the stove electrode igniters, but the others are still running fine. I still have the "shorted key" code-which the tech sheet recommends replacing the control - is that the spark module or the keypad control? This refers to the touchpad itself==> http://www.repairclinic.com/Circuit-Board-Or-Timer-Parts?s=t-SF367LXSS-%3d%3dc13 This is yet another of the many shortcomings of this range. In addition to it being a convoluted, finicky, cantankerous range to troubleshoot, Whirlpool has also shortchanged technicians in the technical information available to us to troubleshoot this nightmare of a range that should have died quietly on the drawing board. They since got a little smarter with their other appliances and started including pin out diagrams for electronic touch panels, for example, on many of their dishwashers they include a touchpad matrix which you could use to test the individual patents to verify the error code that was pointing to a shorted touchpad. But that's not the case here. So, absent the pin out for the touchpad, we can only make a professional guess as to the true problem. In this case, the error code is pointing to the electronic control itself as being a problem. We are only as good as the troubleshooting information that we have the work with. So we go with that.

Thank you for the replies-this has been very helpful. Going to try grounding the DSI module per the wp service bulletin and replacing the keypad control. Waiting for the new keypad control-so will let you know what happens. Then again I may just get a new oven-these parts ain't cheap!
