The Force Says "Make sure that ice chute is nice and frosty when the GE tech arrives". Poke the little door open a few times with a wooden spoon or something till it sticks open for you. I just had one of my customers stop me in the street today and tell me he's waiting for his new free fridge cause GE has no more doors in his color. His chute was "nice and frosty" when the GE tech arrived. Said the GE guy took one look at the frost and got the ball rolling. May the Force be with you. Do the previous posts listed below suggest that a ge model TFH22PSRABB ser. gh222975 is (ok, WAS, or would have been?) in the group of the lawsuit? and are the thinly insulated doors reason compressor runs so much... argh. -------------------- Important Change to 4th Year Moisture Program On any service call for any failure on the listed models/serial numbers, please call customer relations once the diagnosis is complete at 1-800-437-9283, prompt 1. I've reviewed the history of GE ice chute problems in this forum but not sure about my specific case. I have a TFX24FG side by side refridgerator. Have had some icing of the door in the past but last night we heard a strange noise and noticed that the ice chute flap door was just hanging down in the fully opened position. It seems loose and doesn't want to close at all. It's like something became disconnected, although it could be a bad solenoid. Our fridge is WAY over 4 years old so I doubt if it would be covered under any warranty or the class action suit. Any suggestions for what we should do? Right now I have a rag stuffed in the chute hole to prevent warm air from entering the freezer compartment. Thanks.
