Could be something simple, like a control problem, or could be something major. Time to break out your multi-meter and see if you're getting voltage to the compressor-- that's the place to start. Help using your meter is here: http://fixitnow.com/2004/12/appliance-repair-revelation-making.htm Let us know what you find and we'll go from there.

Will need the rest of your model number and the manufacturers number to see what all is in this box, but I would start checking ref.# 13-freezer control and the ref.# 12, the defrost control board. Hosing the box with water probably shorted something out when you plugged it in as it would have still been wet. And with the box laying over you cannot be sure it will even cool when you get the frig to running again. Click here for image.
