Hello, I have a GE Monogram Dishwasher (existing in the house when I bought it but approximately 5 yrs old) model number ZBD5700D01BB. It seems to have malfunctioned during a normal wash cycle and now it seems to be stuck in "Heated Dry." I cannot use the clear button, or any other button, to change, pause or cancel the cycle. I tried holding buttons down for 2+ seconds (in case child proof mode was on somehow) also. I have tried to pause the Heated Dry by holding that button down as well. I unplugged the dishwasher and left it unplugged overnight, but upon plugging it back in it goes into Heated Dry. When it's on (and in Heated Dry) there is a whirring noise but no water entering or no other actions occuring inside the dishwasher. I have left it on for 30 minutes to see if it would cancel it's action or complete it's cycle or something but it did not. It also did not warm up inside the dishwasher (as I would expect "Heated" Dry to do heh). Any tips or am I stuck with a $60 + parts/labor service visit? Thanks much!

See if you can access the tech sheet, should be on the right side of the underside of the unit after you remove the toe panel, or perhaps in the console. Almost sounds like a stuck key pad but the tech sheet might shed more information on this malfunction.

Hi there, I didn't have much luck finding a tech sheet  As it was I kind of needed a working dishwasher (visiting folks abound) so I sucked it up and paid for GE service.The issue was a full overflow trap which pushes up a toilet-style float and trips a small switch. This effectively freezes the dishwasher in "drain" cycle and for whatever reason puts the panel on Heated Dry. Caused by too much soap or accidental or accumulated inclusion of regular or hand soap (from dishes w/ soap in them in the sink). Taking off the toe kick and removing a couple panels under the dishwasher lets you barely see the tiny tray that was the culprit, and you can sneak paper towels into one edge of it to dry it out and return it to service.

No problem. Hopefully someone else can save themselves the repair call by doing this themselves. Requires removing maybe 15 screws, 2 panels and one small electrical housing but was very straightforward, and at least I can do this for myself in the future.

I just want to thank you very much for you information about your GE Monogram dishwasher. I had the exact same problem. I thought that it was the electronic key pad. I check out the price for a new key pad and was shocked to see that the part was over $300.00 plus the cost for the service tech. I thought for that price I guess I will just buy a new dishwasher instead although I really didn't want to spend the money for a new one. I am so glad that I found the information you posted on this form. Thanks again
