Hey all -

Based upon the info in: http://fixitnow.com/wp/2008/11/14/older-whirlpool-kenmore-dishwasher-wont-drain/, and some tinkering I've done, I know that the problem with a kenmore dishwasher not draining is the check valve.

So I'm going to remove the check valve and clean it up or replace it. The article mentions to be careful not to bend the valve sideways, or it will snap, leaving the threaded part of the valve in the motor.

In the event this _should_ happen - are there any tips on how to get the remaining part of the valve out of the motor?

Also - when I go to remove it initially, assuming it won't turn by hand, do I use pliers to grab it and turn it, or is there a gentler way to accomplish the task?

Also, the check valve looks just like the one in the article, or:

Thanks much.

- M

Good news. Nothing broke, the valve unscrewed by hand. Found 2 rubber feet, probably from a cutting board or something inside the valve.

Draining normally.

Thx

M
