Greetings - first post!  I have a Kenmore Coldspot 106.58582892 refridgerator purchased in 1999.  Recently, it seems whatever we put in the two lower crisper drawers freezes.  The rest of the fridge compartment is fine, just the two crisper drawers.  I tried setting the humidity levels with the little lever on the drawers but didnt make any difference.  Any thoughts?

Make sure the meat pan slide control on the left side of the liner is set to veggies (the warmer setting), and not meat (much colder).

RegUS_PatOff - Okay - I see where you're going with this - measure the temps!  So be it:

Freezer = -20oF

Fridge (top shelf) = +32oF

Crisper (bottom) = +26oF

These are with the refridgerator setting at "2" out of possible "6" (which is coldest).  Cold air balance set to 1 past middle (i.e. more cold air to freezer than fridge)

Possible thermostat problem?

Chat_in_RI:  Its on veggies setting , not meat, though it often gets bumped out of either position.  I've never really seen this to make much difference though

:ooo: Freezer temp seems kinda low... should be about 0F

The Thermostat senses the Fridge temperature ...

Does the Fridge Light turn OFF when the Door closes ?

Is the Compressor running forever ?

Problem fixed! :D  For whatever reason I decided to turn the temperature control all the way to the right (to "6" - the coldest) to see if the compressor clicked on (it did).  I then turned it back to "2".  When I checked temps again in the morning I had this:

Freezer = 0oF

Fridge = +42oF

bottom crisper = +36oF

This is on the same "2" setting that earlier showed temps ~10o lower.  The fruit is no longer freezing in the crisper :) All I can figure is that working the control must have fixed the problem.   Who'd uh thunk?

Thanks everyone for your help!

It may be a "hokey" Temperature Control, and may act up again anytime.
