I have a Thermador electric cook-top (CV2136), powered downdraft ventilator intake (CV2236) and under cabinet blower (CV2536).  In addition, there is another blower/fan mounted on a low roof off the garage (sorry, don't know the model number).

I don't see any wires going to the external blower, other than standard house wiring, so I suspect it the existing Thermador control may just turn it off / on, while the CV2536 is the unit that has variable speed control from the stove-top.

Anyway......I am transitioning to a Bosch gas cook-top and a new 500 CFM Cook N Vent, which are separate units (i.e. the controls for the Cook N Vent are NOT integrated with the cook-top itself).  I want to continue to use the blower/fan on the roof, but have no idea how to wire it in series with the new Cook N Vent.  I'm not that particular about the external blower running at different speeds, so if it's simpler, just help me figure out how to have it turn on when the Cook N Vent unit is turned on.

Thanks,

Mike

Im of the "keep it simple" school. If it were me I would not attempt the integration & instead simply install an on/off toggle switch somewhere. If your new downdraft? or vent hood? is controlled via a "board" the additional current draw to the external blower may exceed its capacity and either shorten its life or simply fry it when you turn it on.

thats my 3 cents:D
