I've worked on this unit before. This time the refer section is warm again; the damper is fully open but no air cometh out. Evaporator is frosted, almost too much, as if the defrost circuit is not functioning. I have a no-touch infrared thermometer and measured the evaporator tubing at -5degrees F, so I think the sealed system is ok. Does anyone know how to initiate defrost on this model, or put it into some kind of diagnostic mode? I also measued the temperature at the top of the freezer baffle, the area where the air is channeled around the top shelf and where a small duct delivers the cold air to the refer; the temp up there is a balmy 31deg. F. I think the coil has too much frost and is restricting the air flow. THanks

Ok I accessed a different post/topic related to defrost and found the link to ADC Info. I put the fridge into defrost by turning off the cold control four times and it went into defrost, but nothing is happening. Am checking the heater and bi-metal now...

Easiest test is put the timer into defrost mode (turn the knob until it hits the Big Click) and see if the defrost heater gets hot. If it does, the timer is bad. If not, then either the defrost heater, def. t'stat, or wiring is bad-- usually it's the def. t'stat but you should confirm with a continuity test on the defrost tstat with it at freezer temp.
