My Amana refrig with bottom freezer and factory ice maker developed a 'blockage' problem. The wire arm had been left for an extended period of time in the 'stop ice position (up). When the arm was lowered the ice maker went through it's normal steps of the paddles rotating and you could hear the water valve cycling but no water flowed into the tray. After consulting 'Ice Maker FAQ's' I dropped off the ice maker to gain access to the water line passing through the back wall of the cabinet. I tried to pass a small wire through the hose but came upon an 'ice blockage' about 5" downstream. The wire freed up some ice crystals but did not unplug the line. Then the light bulb went on over my head and I went into my first aid kit and pulled out the 60cc syringe (ex-paramedic that I am). Armed with a syringe of hot water and a Tupperware container I gave the water hose a hot water enema. After repeated flushings (the container was for 'back flow') Voila!!! No more ice plug. Reinstalled ice maker, put it through it's paces and all is well.

Hope this helps someone in a similar situation.

Chief
