I recently replaced a microswitch on a Fisher Paykel DD602 because it was coding U1.  It no longer gives me a code, the LCD is green, and the program pad works fine but when I try to start the drawer it just emits 4 quick beep and does NOTHING.   The manual says that the exhaust valve circuit is open.  How do I check/fix this?

4 quick beeps is usually door is open , double check you work with the switch

iirc in diagnostics you can check the door switch operation

a quick check is if you open the drawer does it power up ?

try lifting up on the drawer then starting it

if the machine starts when you do this you need to shim the drawer rail away from the cabinet

this lifts it slightly so the optic sensor for the drawer aligns properly

602 uses a microswitch not the optical method

I checked my work on the microswitch and the switch is secure, the wires are clean and secure and the rail contacts the bracket latch assembly and the depresses the microswitch.  I swapped the Controller LCD PCB Assembly and Wiring Harness from the top drawer to the bottom drawer but the drawer still does not work so it's not those components.

The LCD display on the bottom drawer remains lit as if the drawer is in the open position and does not ever shut down unless the POWER button is depressed.  Opening ans closing the drawer does nothing.

If I had hair I'd be pulling it out right now.  I've taken the bottom drawer apart so many times I can do it in my sleep!  Why won't the drawer WORK!!!  Did I get a faulty microswitch?  When I put the new switch in it stopped the U1 code but I can't get the drawer to cycle at all.

on PDF page 37 of the Service Manual, it shows the Tub Home Microswitch is in series with the Lid Exhaust Valve

How do you check the Lid Exhaust Valve to see if it is functioning properly?

Thanks.

Another issue: Upper drawer never completely drains, resulting in disgusting residue under the Filter Plate Assembly.

I swapped the Filter Plate Assembly and Motor Rotor Assembly from the lower drawer but the dishes did not come clean for some reason.  So I put the upper drawer assembly back.

I noticed that the plastic ring holding the Motor Rotor Assembly was not installed correctly (misaligned) so I fixed that but it still does not drain 100%.  The rotor does not look worn.

Make sure the Y piece is aligned correctly at the end of the drain hoses, the hose should be secured in such a way that that there is no strain on the rubber Y
That said, I replaced a rotor in one a short while ago for the very same reason (drained poorly-lower drawer), and could see only a bit of wear on the end of the shaft - drain was good and strong after replacement of rotor, and didn't get a callback

I will try the Rotor (again) from the bottom drawer to see if this solves the problem before buying a new one ($70.00).

On the lower drawer Lid Exhaust Valve issue, in diagnostic mode the appropriate lights came on/stayed off, I turned the valve on but I didn't know what to look/listen for, if anything.  One issue though was that the "Fast" light on the drawer is not working (burned out?).

hang on i just had a read through your first post

U1 , on early dishdrawer you need to set water Pressure HP or LP

turn on drawer and open , press the program changing button and the eco at the same time , wait about 5 secs

the screen will show HP or LP

press the start/pause button and the setting will change , the sound pitch will also sound high or low

turn off and test ok

to test exhaust valve , go into diagnostics , first set EV and then LS , wait 1 minute and then turn off LS , check after 1 minute that door is still staying closed and not deflating the seal
