This unit has functioned perfectly for about a year.  We shut the unit down when we left for vacation and decided to clean it upon return.  Long story short, it hasn't worked since.  After cleaning and putting the unit back together, I apparently didn't put the hose that connects the pump to the freezer plate on properly and it came off - causing the water in the container to bubble and spill over.  The water fills, and circulates, but never makes ice.  I've taken a temp reading of the freeze plate and it doesn't get below 68 degrees.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the information.  The unit is not in "cleaning" mode - however, I did cycle the cleaning mode again with the hopes it would correct itself.  As expected, it didn't.  I've read through most of the material, and it seems to point to low refrigeration.  I find that hard to believe since it worked flawlessly before vacation and before we decided to clean it.  Should I pull the unit out and grab a test meter?  Where would you recommend I start?

The devil's in the details.  Let's see if I can get all the details right.  We shutdown and emptied all the ice out and made sure the pump drained.  everything to that point was ok.  upon returning and ordering the cleaner, we disassembled the "guts" to clean.  hoses, and reservoir.  i took the cutter out and was able to reach the hose that connects the pump to the water dispenser, so we could clean that.  the freezing plate was never unhooked.  we cleaned the hoses and other plastic, then reassembly.  this is when I failed to connect the hose from the pump to the dispenser.  a bottle of the cleaner was poured into the reservior, then i refilled the bottle twice with water and pressed the clean cycle.  the water/cleaner mix bubbled everywhere.  after a minute or so, I pressed the off button and called the father-in-law (since he has the identical model) and had him tell me where the hoses went.  Once we discovered the problem, I reconnected the house and started the clean cycle again.  It ran, of course, until the clean light was no longer lit.  I pressed the on button and it hasn't produced ice since.

Also, is there an easy way to rule out if the compressor is working? or if the machine is somehow "hung" in the clean cycle?  The water reservoir fills and seems to run over a little, then when the pump kicks on, it cycles through the hoses and out of the dispenser across the freeze plate, but it never makes ice.

I certainly miss having the "party ice" as the kids have labeled it.......D

Having never serviced one, my response may be flaky, but it would seem that if it is filling/pumping water over the tray etc, that rules out being hung up in clean, can you get near the compressor and touch the can to feel whether it's running - during your disassembly/reassembly is possible that some tubing or the plate itself got bumped or nicked in any way?

If thats the case, the fun is just beginning as the compressor running without chilling the plate means that the sealed system is empty of it's gas

From Repairclinic(link above) or whirlpool, but which parts will you seek?

Compressor and Sealed System repairs would require special tools, torches, and gauges, and the Freon, etc..
and usually only done by a professional.

Also if the chill plate has been damaged(tubing), the component will need replacement, may not be a feasible repair ($$)

doesn't work that way ...

even if it was available with Freon (it's not), you'd still have to find and fix the leak (torches, brazing, etc)
and braze the Compressor lines to the rest of the System
and add more Freon (sold only to licensed professionals in some states)  to the rest of the System, (gauges, Freon, etc)

evaperator leaks are really common on these ice machines. They leak out faster when turned off because there is more pressure built up in the evaperator.

that's more promising information.  I hope to find a repair facility and at least have it looked at.  Any special instructions?
