Currently looking at a GE dishwasher that prompts a BLOCKED WASH ARM CODE about 1 minute in to the wash cycle. When you unlock the door and lock again it will wash for another minute or two and go into that code again. Could not find any sensors that would send that information to the electronics. Could it be a pump problem? The pump sounds strong. Any help with this one? Thanks!

There is a sensor on the right side of the tub, I'm not sure exactly what it senses, maybe the water hitting the side of the tub when the spray arm turns. It doesn't appear as the arm itself has a magnet or anything for the sensor to sense. the arm does have a magnet built in. To test this system set your meter to ohms and connect the leads to the sensor. rotate the spray arm and see if you get a 0 reading as the arm passes the sensor. On this model the gears and plastic bearings at the base of the wash arm wear and the arm will turn slow causing the code to come up.

RegUS_PatOff wrote: "20yr old GE Dishwasher" Sumpin ain't raht! Usually, when I see a big disparity in parts prices like that, there's a good reason; like a vendor referencing the wrong part, frankenflu outbreak at the Sears parts orifice. Sumpin'. Anyfing. Yanno?

From my 20 odd years at Sears , I have seen many "funny" prices - the one I remember most was Sears was selling the 3-in-one hard start cheaper than a local mom/pop could by it wholesale. Usually Sears was a little higher - came in a Kenmore box!!! When Sears is involved , something is always "not right" ..
