So I'm trying to help my neighbor fix her stove.  It's a Magic Chef\Maytag with the sealed burners.

When I try any of the four knobs, I only get spark on the back two burners.  I'm getting gas from all four burners.  What part(s) do I need to focus on changing?

I don't know if it's the spark module or the ignitor.  Any help would br greatly appreciated...

Thanks, Chris

You can check the ignitors/wiring by switching the output wires at the spark module. If the front ones work & back ones stop working, change out the module. If no change take a look at the ignitor(remove screw on bottom to remove ignitor), ignitor wire & ground wire by removing the burners.

I guess they haven't been working for her for a while....  I will try switching wires on the spark module.  I guess that is accessed form the back of the unit?

"The spark module is located on the lower right side base rail as veiwed from the front of the unit.

Remove the top and side panel.

Remove three screws from the rear and top edges of the side panel.

This should loosen the side panel enough to pull up and disengage the “key hole" at the front inside of the panel (top & bottom) from the screw and plastic spacer holding it in place."

Thanks for the advise especially the service manual.  It was easier than I thought.  The spark module was the issue.

Thanks again...

Chris
