The problem started with the dim clock display....

After replacing the clock, the keypad doesn't work at all and the downdraft blower runs constantly. From reading other posts it seems that this problem could be either the touchpad or the power relay board. How can we tell which needs to be replaced, or if it could be something other than these two parts? Or both?  If both, we may be looking at an appliance replacement...

There are no fault codes on the display.

Thanks

New problem since replacing the clock? Double check your wiring to the clock against the wiring diagram supplied with your range (in a pouch taped to the back of the d/d fan compartment).

Well, there doesn't seem to be any documentation anywhere on this machine.

We do have the Service Manual, and looking on page 1-16, the Membrane Connections on the touchpad, we have metered all the connections listed and there isn't any continuity on any of them.  What would cause this?  Is the Touchpad bad?

The original problem was no display.  We removed the old clock, cleaned the contacts on the membrane, and replaced the old clock.  After that, we lost about half of the functions on the touchpad (all of the oven controls and some of the numbers).  We then ordered a new clock, replaced the old clock, and now we have no touchpad funtions at all and the blower runs.  We now have the same problems (no touchpad functions and fan runs) with the old clock as well.

Thanks.

When the touchpad ribbon is pulled from this clock, the fan automatically runs.  There is a closed circuit built into your touchpad from 5-15.  If your seated correctly, and it is still running, you can ohm your touchpad to see if it is the problem, or jump the clock with a piece of insulated wire from the 5-15 connector on the clock.  There will be one side of the female molex receiver on the clock that has a 0.  That is the 0 side (go figure).  The first connection on that side is the 1 connector, then 2 and so on.  If your sure your TP is seated correctly, jump 5-15, if your fan turns off, the clock is fine and your touchpad is shot.

Long overdue update to this problem...

We replaced the touchpad, and not only did the range start working, but it seems to have fixed a problem that we had with the oven since we bought the range.  The oven temperature was never correct.  I used the oven with a seperate oven thermometer because the oven was never hot enough.  I couldn't control the temperature.  We had a repairman in years ago, replacing something under warrentee, and he tested the oven temp and said it was working fine, but all these years it wouldn't bake properly.  I have a couple of commercial ovens in my store, so I did my most of my baking there.  Well, after we replaced the touchpad, suddenly the oven comes to temp properly, and bakes like a dream!  Who'd a thunk it???
