My fridge (Amana DRS266@aw) recently stopped making ice. I assumed it was the ice maker. In short I bought a new fridge and moved the old one to the garage and then noticed the freezer would go to 20 deg F at normal setting. So I moved it back into the house. Now it's still not cool enough after one day. It will get to 25 degrees or so and then not freeze ice and the fridge side is sorta warm also. I've swept the coils off and done a few other things. I'm thinking it may be a flow problem. Or if the compressor relay is bad and therefore never kicks in, how can the darn thing start to get cold at all? Is the relay located near the compressor? HELP! Thanks, Mark Here is what my evap coils look like. Does this help? It appears that I'm only getting frost on the upper area and not evenly on all coils. What might this indicate? "running non-stop"...... I supppose that might explain my higher than normal electric bills of late then too! I guess I'm SOL on this one. dammit! Thanks for your help. I'll be back often. Found this to be a helpful site. I was hoping that it might just be a timer, thermostat, etc. Guess I'll have to go shopping then!
