I had the common dimming lights, no response from auger and no ice, so after hours of reading the forums, went ahead and replaced M/Board. Yeah! Lights back on auger moves when called upon, everything seemed fine. However, no ice. I put IM6 into diagnostic mode and it seems to function fine; when I initiated the cycle there happened to be ice in the mold. After harvest it dropped and seemed to be "normal" ice. Then with a stop watch, a 5 second water fill. The new water will freeze and then just sit there. So now I'm thinking thermistor, but haven't tested it. One note about the paddle that I'm not sure about; It seems to "want" to be in the rearward most position. Even with and empty ice bin. I manually pull it out and some time later, it's back in. It seems with the spring, that it should stay out until forced in by ice. Sorry for the lengthy post, but I figured more info the better! Thanks in advance for the help! Keith P.s. Wife is threatening to call a "professional". (I think to fix the 'fridge. I hope)

yes the paddle should be out , there is a small spring that holds it out . if it should go in the ice maker will not harvest it thinks there is a full bin . if i where you i would taske out the ive maker and see if i could fix it myself . otherwise you will need to BUY a NEW ICEMAKER over a LITTLE SPRING , GOTA LOVE GE !

I will try that Bob! Is this a problem that is common? If so, are there any things to look out for whilst in there? when you push the paddle in, how much force should it spring back with? Keith Last edited on Sun Jan 18th, 2009 04:45 am by KeithCosentino |
