jmatthias wrote: I'm sorry it took so long to follow up. The DD602 doesn't lower the lid down like (I believe) the newer models do. It has a seal that is essentially a long air bellows that runs the whole perimeter of the drawer. When the cycle starts, the first thing that happens is that a little air pump (1 for each drawer) fills the seal which expands down to the top of the drawer, creating a seal. Once I had decent documentation, I put it in diagnostic mode and ran each function separately. Despite the fact that I could hear the pump running, the seal did not fill up. I disassembled the drawer, told the dishwasher to close the valve for that seal and blew into the tube with good old lung power. Had the valve been closed, I would have had resistance. There was none. Turning everything off, I pulled the valve out. When I did, I saw some of the pretty green corrosion on the power plug for the valve. I clean it up and voila! Hello Jeffery. I am attempting to fix my machine. I noticed you put in diagnostic mode and ran each function. How is this done? How did you troubleshoot the seal filling up or not with air? Do i need to buy the pen to run through the diagnostics? I have too much water in the top drawer, and I don't see drain line issues, so I think it could be the seal. Doesn't look broken from first look. Thanks for any support here.

I've just fixed some issues with my DD603. It leaked bottom drawer, which turned out to be a lug at the rear of the rail being bent downwards by clumsy re-fitment of the drawer, consequently the left side sat high, and leaked badly on the right. It had a broken cover over the switches on the top drawer, and after fitting the new cover, the LCD display no longer illuminates. Any ideas? I have had this dishwasher for 8 years, and have spent a fortune on getting a repairer out. When I've started looking at things myself it's not so scary. I would appreciate any ideas on the LCD thing, and also if someone could send me a repair manual that would be great. Last edited on Tue Sep 1st, 2009 05:14 am by Benchai |
