I inherited the Viking range when I bought my house 4 years ago. I noticed a few weeks back that the upper right hand corner of the stove gets extremely hot (just under the knob to turn on the right front burner) when the oven is on for more than 15 minutes. Upon closer inspection I see that there is a ¼” gap between the oven door and the range body just below where it gets hot. I assume that some of the heat is escaping and heating the area in question, since the left side of the oven door has a much smaller gap. I have taken the door off a few times and adjusted the single screw on the hinge, but can’t seem to get gap to shrink on the right side. In addition, since taken the door off I the oven door has more play and doesn’t feel like it has a tight fit. Do I need to replace both hinges? One last thing I did notice that when I took the oven door off that the hinges looked exactly the same which I found odd given that I assumed that a left side hinge would look different than a right side. Thanks in advance, Pasadena Grasshopper Attachment: Viking 001.jpg (Downloaded 57 times)

The L & R Hinges ar the same, and according to PDF page 4 of this Viking Bulletin, they redesigned the Hinges in 2007 • Oven Door Hinge has been changed to a more robust piece RepairClinic may or may not have the part, but here's a picture of the (new?) Hinge part # PC020009 (about $ 32 at other places..._ click on picture ![]() Last edited on Fri Aug 22nd, 2008 10:46 pm by RegUS_PatOff ____________________ The new repair forums==> http://appliantology.org RegUS_PatOff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPAY2LsKVEw my video production: “Easter Seals Walk With Me” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EBiLyYXMiA |

Thanks for the pdf but it only shows how to remove the oven door but not how to replace the hinges themselves. From what I can see there is at least one screw on each side of the oven that need to be removed but I am sure there is more…
