Hi everyone! I am hoping someone can help me with this. About 1 1/2 years ago this unit (GLHS269ZDW1) started having a problem. The top of the freezer and frig side was warm but the bottom was freezing. The water also froze up. I called a service guy and for $300 he replaced my ADC. Okay I know I was shafted on this. So here I am now with the same symptoms so I look up the part and order it. I just got the new one installed and nothing is changing. I took off the back panel in the freezer and the fan is not working. Should I get a new fan? Will this one work? http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SSPartDetail.aspx?PartID=1154698&PPStack=1

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

That's not the right motor.

If you enter your model number into RepairClinic website (or that nice yellow box at the top of this page)

Then in the lelt column, click on "Belt / Motor / Pulley / Motor Coupling"

it shows your "Motor, evaporator (freezer) fan" as http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SSPartDetail.aspx?PartID=1037066&PPStack=1

but first,
I'd check the voltage at the Evaporator fan motor to see if it's getting voltage from (controlled by) the ADC board.

Yeah I saw that part but was hoping to find a less expensive sub. I will check the voltage. I sure hope I didn't get a bad ADC!

Thanks for your help!

I routinely replace the evap fan motor with the one you mentioned on the advice of Frig Tech support. The correct motor from the parts list draws slightly less power so it might pay in the long run to use the correct motor. Just make sure the motor is getting voltage and has a good neutral before condemning it.

I just checked and I have good voltage at the motor but the motor is dead. I have ordered the correct part, it's worth it to know that it will be done right.

Thanks for the help!
