There is a panel at the ceiling of the fridge that runs from the control panel to the back of the fridge. At the end of that panel is a rectagular bowl. It's filled with water and overflowing. What's wrong?

I dont think that fridge has a bowl .i think what your seeing is the air vent from the freezer dripping water . if this is the case  your drain pan under your freezer evap coil is frozen and overflowing .  you will need to empty the freezer and get to the coil. then with a hair dryer defrost the pan and clear the drain blockage . it will be messy  and will take time . theres no clear cut way to clear the drain , i get all the water out of the pan and heat up a brazing rod on the stove and carefully melt my way down the frozen tube , when i am through i run a little hot water down to clear anything else out .
