I have a fairly new kitchenaid d/w and it will not clean my dishes. The soap container always has soap left in it. It seems like the top spray bar must be clogged and the full pressure never reaches the area. Can anyone tell me how to remove the piping to the upper spray bar? Any other ideas I should check.

Thanks,

Fran

You might check to see if you are getting enough water into the unit to give good pressure to the spray arms.  When it has stopped filling and starts washing open the door to see if it has enough water, you might have a fill valve going bad or not enough water pressure to the dishwasher?

To see if there are any service updates for this would need the model number as I have seen a couple but they just addressed poor washability in the upper rack, do not think any addressed your problem.

Pegi,

There is plenty of water in the unit and the operating temp is normal about 144 degrees. I just don't hear the nose of the high pressure whirl that I use to hear that is why I think there must be a clog.

Thanks

Fran

Sorry it took so long but here is the

MODEL#              KUDS01DJSSO

SERIAL/SERIE    FL3837462

The main problem is that no water is getting to the center spray bar. It sits there like there is a blockage in the supply tubecoming from the pump area. The lower spray bar works great. I need to understan how to remove the plastic pieces without breaking then from the belly of the unit.

Thanks,

Fran

See if the rack is not going into the hole in the rear of the unit to let the spray arm get water.  My copy/paste is a service pointer put out by Whirlpool about what you are describing.

To remove the plastic water tubing that goes up the back and to the center and top/roof sprayers:

1) Remove rack stops for top rack and remove complete rack and sprayer arm assembly.
2) Release metal tabs that snap over tabs on plastic tubing on the roof of the dishwasher.
3) Release metal tabs that snap over tabs on plastic tubing on the back of dishwasher about half way up the back.
4) You maybe able to lean complete unit forward and disengage from last tab on supply tube at bottom. If it doesn't have enough room to come out then remove bottom spray arm and turn supply tub under lower spray arm counterclockwise about a quarter turn and it will lift up and out.
