Howdy....just found this site last night and it has renewed my belief that unique internet sites still exist... About 10 years ago we bought a house with a great O and M Contempo range. 40" wide and four burners, including a Pan-o-matic. The oven is above the burners and the wooden cutting block and burner rings slide into the unit when not in use to make it more compact than a normal stove. We love the robustness and simplicity of the stove and it fits in well with the rest of the kitchen. The burners are mounted at 33" tall so it is comfortable to cook at for a petit person. (Normal counter height is 36") . We estimate that the stove was installed in the early 60's. Over the years, the stove has started to act up- the dials used to regulate the burners are much harder to turn and don't always shut off completely. The broiler (with the fancy schmancy Grill-a-vator) no longer works when turned on although the pilot light is lit. The Pan-o-matic never worked. The idea of cold calling "sandiegoyoubetchaapplicanerepair" is holding me back since this will probably end up being as much a restoration as a repair. I'm fairly good at fixing things, but I don't want to start tearing this apart without a source for parts or a manual. Any suggestions on where I can get parts and a manual for a range this old? My beer and I thank you for your help... j

Did you have any success with your O&M Contempo? I just came across your post from 2 years ago while searching for resources to get my 1964 O&M Contempo gas oven working properly. Thermostat is bad - King-Seeley KS 63725 / 722T011P03 1964. I haven't been able to find one anywhere. Any suggestions? We love it and would hate to have to replace it. Thanks! Bought it on ebay a few minutes ago. I'm assuming since the part numbers are all the same that the back of the unit is also the same and will manage the 6-wire connection. I'll check out your web site and see if you have anything else that will help me spruce up the old O&M (or Tappan Fabulous 400 as it would be called on the East Coast)!
