GE GSD5930 D00WW Looking at problems discussed on internet I have concluded that I probably have need for a sequence switch for my GE dishwasher. During a wash cycle, it started flashing drying and beeping in sequence to the flashing. Removed power and tried a number of different things but always ended up with dry/beep after doing a clear and then having washing flash for 30 seconds. Noticed when I had the front assembly off that the plastic flap that is in the vent, is broken. So no way whatever activates it can activate it. Think this will cause any additional problem if I get the sequence switch fixed?? Thanks, Jim

Sure that steam or water splashes haven't entered the door interior and ruined the control board? If you mean that this thing is broken, it could well be the original culprit to your problem. What ever the flap is that you're talking about, if it is obviously broken or misplaced, it should be fixed before further troubleshooting can be accurately done. LOL, the piston & nut assembly is hardly a vent flap located in the control panel, Geesh, how much of that beer have you been drinking????

Look at part above and what is broken is the left side which attaches to a spring that pulls the flap open when dryer is activated. Don't know if I broke it when taking the door apart or if it happened earlier. If earlier, I suppose steam could have ruined the control board. How can I determine that??? If, by some rare fluke, that doesn't fix it, you can return it for a refund.
